What We Clear
House Clearance Staffordshire works in partnership with Kwikshift Removals & Storage. Kwikshift Removals Ltd carries out every job, with its own crews and vans. Some people need a whole house emptied. Others just need one space cleared so they can get on with life. We do both.
If you are not sure which kind of clearance you need, just tell us what you want to end up with. An empty house ready to sell? A spare room you can use again? We will work out the rest with you.
Whole houses
Every room, the loft, the garage and the shed, left empty. Common reasons are a family home being sold, a move into care, or a property that has been left empty for a while.
Single rooms and part clearances
A spare bedroom full of boxes, a dining room you want back, or the contents of one floor. You show us what goes and what stays.
Lofts, garages and sheds
These are often the hardest spaces to tackle yourself. Lofts mean ladders and tight hatches. Garages and sheds tend to hold years of tools, tins, old bikes and furniture that was "kept just in case".
End of tenancy
For landlords and letting agents, we clear what a tenant has left behind so the property can be cleaned, checked and let again. Our guide for landlords covers what to do before you start.
Downsizing
Moving to a smaller home or into sheltered housing often means letting go of a lot of furniture. Kwikshift can clear what won't fit and move what you are keeping, so you deal with one team.
Before a sale
Estate agents and buyers usually want to see a property empty, or at least clear. We can empty the house before photos are taken or before completion day.

Hoarded Homes, Handled Gently
Hoarding is a mental health condition, not a lifestyle choice. The NHS page on hoarding disorder explains it well. People who hoard often find it very hard to let things go, so a clearance has to be done with care.
- We don't judge, and we don't comment on the state of the home.
- Where the person is involved, we go at their pace. One room at a time is fine.
- Papers, photos, cash and anything that looks personal can be set aside rather than binned. Just tell us what to look out for.
- Vans can be parked with care, and we keep the work low-key.
Please tell us about any hazards before we visit, such as needles, pests or damp floors. We will tell you honestly if it is something Kwikshift can take on or if you need a specialist.
What Happens to Your Things
A house clearance is not just "rubbish removal". Most homes hold a mix of good furniture, everyday items and true waste. We sort it so as little as possible goes to landfill.
- 1. Things you are keeping. These stay put, or Kwikshift can move them to your home or into secure, CCTV-monitored storage.
- 2. Things someone else can use. Where furniture and household goods are in good condition, Kwikshift tries to send them to new homes or charities rather than landfill. Charities can only take some items, so not everything will qualify.
- 3. Everything else. This goes to licensed waste sites. That includes general household rubbish, broken furniture, and electrical items such as fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines.
The law says householders must check that anyone taking their waste away is a registered waste carrier. If your waste is fly-tipped by someone who isn't, you could be fined. That is set out on GOV.UK.
Kwikshift Removals Ltd is an upper tier waste carrier, Environment Agency registration CBDU232762. You can check it yourself on the public register of waste carriers. Ask for a waste transfer note if you would like paperwork for your records.

No two clearances are the same, so we don't publish prices. The quote depends on how much there is, how easy it is to get out, and how much can be reused. These details help Kwikshift give you an accurate figure:
Postcode
Where the property is, and where anything you are keeping needs to go.
Photos
A few pictures of each room or space. Open cupboards and the loft hatch if you can.
Access
Stairs, a lift, a long path, steps, or a narrow lane. Is there somewhere to park a van or lorry?
Timing
Your preferred date, and any deadline such as a sale completion or a tenancy end date.
Before the crew arrives
- Take out, or clearly label, anything you want to keep.
- Look for paperwork, keys, photos and jewellery in drawers and pockets.
- Empty and defrost the fridge and freezer if you can.
- Let neighbours know if a van will need to park near their drive.
